and we MIX this thing...close to 4 years coming.(SHIT!)

ANTICIPATION! EXPECTATION!

We aim to have our NEW RECORD out by the end of the sixth month of 2009.

Is it the same...not really, is it different...i HOPE so...

I dont want to tell you too much about it...i will let you make our own minds up.

All i know is i like it and that's the most important thing

We made a film clip.

Hello world.

Things have been flat out!

We were supposed to finishing of some recording this week but our producer is stranded in Thailand...

So we shot a film clip instead.

You guessed it! its for 'Break me' We did it with an old friend of the band Daniel Daly and a new friend Darcy Carter. It was a full DIY affair and so far she's lookin pretty good!

I wont go into too much detail...ill just let you watch it when its out...but it was the most fun out of all our videos to shoot for me becasue it was essentially a big party!

We have to thank a bunch of people for helping us make the video! it was all a bit last minute and hectic and without them it would have not happend!

P.s. I had a dream we booked a tour!

HUMID RAIN AND REMANICING.

We did an Interview (well two infact) at MMM radio in Sydney town a week or so back.
We also played a broken down version of 'Break me' in which we squeezed Andy into an ipod.
He complained about the room but it was just easier that way.

It's funny when i got the email saying we were doing an interview with 'ugly phil' i had a little chuckle to myself...he probably doesn't even remember it happening but some of the dumb shit you do as a kid you forget about...this just sparked my memory of some dumb teenage fun...

About 10 years ago Phil used to host music show late at night on channel ten, this was the days of the fax and home phone...no mobiles or internet for us coast kids...i cant even remember what the show was like but im sure we hated it at the time...

So the show is on late on a saturday night and they would encourage people to call or fax (!) in...i remember several occasions of ringing up and trying to get through, i dont think we ever did...There was one time where you could see the faxes come out live on air. So we took this as our chance and we started to draw caricatures of phil and his co-host (jackie o?) with block's o cheese - we must of thought the show was cheesy ha! anyway we started to send them through and out they come live on air...i remember him picking one up and he was well confused about the cheese...man it made our night...hell even our week! Its funny the shit you do as a kid for amusement.

We also managed to squeeze in a little interview with 'Chit Chat' of whom was a stirling chap!
Its funny as we used to share an a&r representative way back when.
Anyways he does planet rock and an Australian music show on Sunday evenings.
Was good to talk with soemone who has 'been there' so to speak (he used to play in machine gun fellatio)



I know its an easy target but...

I love it how the new Nickleback album has 'ELEVEN CLASSICS' on it...i would have thought in order for something to be judged classic it would have to be around a little bit more than a couple of weeks?
Even then calling nickleback classic at any point in the game...i dont know about that.
Dude really need's to get over his Hetfield complex.

Id like to think that Jaymz is thinking 'EET FUK KROGER!' ha ha.

Mixing the first taste off the album

This is going to sound weird...but the weather in melbourne over this past week has been killer.
Sunny but not hot! cool but not cold...perfect!

Not to mention the food! and the company...and...well the coffee was pretty expensive...i think Sydney has the coffee thing going on a little better...i mean its super cheap and strong in my hood.

Maybe the problem is local knowledge?

Anyways why were we living it up in M-town you ask?

Well Ben and myself were working on overdubs and mixing the first taste of the our third record with the affable Richard Stolz.

We spent a couple off days down in Sing Sing south doing some vocal, guitar and keyboard overdubs.
It seems that everyone in the north side off Richmond to the south side of Prahran drives a luxury sports car...Ben was in his element!

Anyway it was good to go over some stuff we did out in the country and get it all to make some sense.

The room we were working in is actually where some of one of my favourite albums EVER was made...Crowded house 'woodface'...it might not resemble in the slightest what it did back then but it was still good to soak up that energy knowing your treading the same boards as your idols.



We had wednesday off as Richard was a little off colour, which worked out fine as we were staying in Albet Park with our live sound guy Adrian. I think i could get used to albert park...nice and flat so you can ride a bike with ease...and the number one tram goes straight into town.



So we basically spent the day eating the BIGEST omellete EVER! drinking coffee and checking out guitars at the guitar emporium.
After such a hard day we finished off jamming all night on the drums and Adrians loop pedal...RAD!

Albert park goes down to south melbourner "beach"...which its not a real beach at all...its like a big bay...anyways its blowing a bloody gale down there...and FREEZING as the wind is literally just off the iceberg (Antarctica), but that doesnt stop the fitness freaks trying to play beach volley ball in the wind...

After a big night Jamming and Scabbing beer of Adrian we returned to Sing Sing Proper to Mix 'Break Me!'.




It was good to be back there again...we mixed our first record and 'cut your losses' there.
The owner Kai is a legend, he built the joint and its a cosy place to hang out!



So Richard went hard while we put in our two bob's worth and i think it's turned out a treat!
I cant wait to get 'break me' out there on the radio for everyone to hear...i think you are going to like it!
I wouldn't say its representative of the album as a whole but its a move in another direction for sure!



I had such a good time in Melbourne that by the time we'd dropped the Cd of at crystal mastering i didnt want to go home.
It was perfect beer weather and i just wanted to lap it up but all i could fit in was one sly pot off Guiness before i had to get the last flight home.
BUMMER!

P.s I just got the Mastered version back from Crystal today and its STONKING!!!! cant wait t show you!
